The Village of Arcadian Springs is a large-scale, multiphase project has been under construction for about three years. When completed, it will feature retail shops fronting what is projected to be a 250 home development.

It is being heralded as "small-town living the way it used to be." and promises to offer "front porch living." Sidewalks, porches, streetlights and treescapes already define the 180 acre property, which has around 40 homes either completed or under construction.

In the tradition of neighborhoods of the 1920s, the homes, in pastel and earthy shades, are uniquely designed, featuring at least one covered porch per home. Six foot high picture windows give the homes a distinctive early 20th century feel, as does the crisp white trimming on each house. Rear entrance alleyways, and both detached and attached garages enhance the "village" atmosphere.

Four homes styles: garden cottages, courtyard townhouses, village homes and mountain homes; give residents many living options. All are available in dozens of floor plans ensuring that no two homes are exactly alike. Also avaliable in the development are luxury condominuims.

Homes offer high ceilings throughout, crown molding, master bedrooms on the main level and hardwood floors predominantly in the main living spaces. Options include two, three and four bedrooms, as well as playrooms, dens, offices and extra storage opportunities.

Anderson Development Group Inc. of Williamsburg, Ky., owns the property. The development, which will soon encompass at least one lake, walking trails and a playground area, will likely be under construction for five to eight more years.

The Village of Arcadian Springs is just minutes from Norris Lake and and Big Ridge State Park. It is only 31/2 miles off I-75 and less than 25 minutes from downtown Knoxville, making it one of the city’s newer "backyard communities."
